Kekoa Koehler
Kekoa serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Makoa Foundation and brings over 10 years of experience in U.S. national security analysis and strategy development, disaster preparedness, and enterprise-wide IT modernization. Kekoa has worked within and outside of government supporting senior-level decisionmakers plan and execute their key initiatives. In 2024, he supported the development and execution of the Defense Logistics Agency’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. From 2019 to 2021, Kekoa was an integral member of an exercise team within the Department of Health and Human Services assessing the ability to respond to a global pandemic diseases which then supported the national COVID-19 pandemic response by preparing senior leaders for concurrent disasters and to stress test novel plans and procedures. In 2016, he served in the Obama Administration supporting homeland security strategy and policy for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Office of Policy.
Kekoa graduated with his bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Hawaii Pacific University in 2014 and with his master’s degree in Security Studies from Georgetown University in 2020. He currently resides in Arlington, VA.
